Academic freedom is a foundational principle of the modern university. In our commitment to academic freedom in teaching, scholarship, and research, the University of Waterloo welcomes campus dialogue on this topic.  We are pleased to present a special panel discussion. 
 
The President's Luncheon on Academic Freedom will be hosted by Vice-President and Provost George Dixon.  The event will feature remarks from President Feridun Hamdullahpur, and discussion with the following panelists:

  • Bryan Tolson, President, Faculty Association, University of Waterloo
  • Karen Jack, University Secretary, University of Waterloo
  • Shannon Dea, Associate Professor, Deparment of Philosophy and Associate Chair, Graduate Studies
